5 Surprising Ways Changing Your Diet Can Transform Your Hair Health

Updated: Dec 19, 2024

Hair is ninety percent genetics and ten percent how you take care of it. It is a fact that what you put in your body reflects your outer appearance and overall health. What you eat shows in your hair and skin. It is essential to be mindful of what you eat to maintain healthy hair and healthy skin, and your stress level also plays a part in your hair and skin health along with your mental health; In this post are 5 Surprising ways changing your diet can transform your hair health. Eating many green leafy vegetables such as Kale, Spinach, & Cabbage as well as drinking water verses pop are essential elements for healthy hair (if the acid taste of a soda is a must, may I suggest mineral water it is a suitable replacement for soda, it is without all of the calories and is healthier for you.

5 Surprising Ways Changing Your Diet Can Transform Your Hair Health
  1. Dry, brittle hair: A lack of nutrient intake causes dry brittle hair. Hair grows from the inside, so if what you eat is not beneficial for your inner health, it is not helpful for your hair & skin. Hair comprises keratin, a protein that forms the outer layer of your hair and skin. Keratin is found in green leafy vegetables. Healthy eating replenishes dry, brittle hair.

  2. Hair loss: Poor diet can also cause hair loss. Have you noticed your hair is less full than it once was? Not eating healthy foods can cause hair loss. Just like a plant dies when there is a lack of water and sun, which provide nutrients for the plant's need to thrive and grow, changing your diet to include healthier foods does the same for your hair; It assists with your hair's health and growth. Healthy eating promotes healthy hair growth.

  3. Hair color: Have you noticed dry-looking hair or hair that appears dull in color? It lacks the natural oils comprised of (drum roll please...) green leafy vegetables and water (hydration). Healthy eating generates shiny, well-hydrated hair.

  4. Split-ins: Split-ins result from poor maintenance and (you guessed it) poor diet. If you want to mend those split-ins, mend them from the inside. Healthy eating will supply most of your needs if healthy hair is what you are seeking in the new year. Healthy eating prevents split-ins.

  5. Healthy hair follicles and healthy scalp: Hair follicles grow inside your scalp. They comprise cells responsible for your hair's color, texture, and condition. Cells are sensitive to nutrients or lack thereof if you are not eating healthily. Lastly, healthy eating ignites healthy cells, healthy follicles, and a healthy scalp.

I've listed only "5 Surprising ways changing your diet can transform your hair health." There are many more reasons to explore changing your diet to transform your hair health.
